Highway 550 closed due to potential deadly accident
A tragic accident occurred on Highway 550 in Ouray County, Colorado, when a car veered off the road and plunged 320 feet into a river on Red Mountain Pass. The Colorado State Patrol reported that the driver and one passenger were killed in the crash, while a young girl passenger was rescued by emergency responders and taken to a hospital. The accident involved a silver Honda Civic that flipped upside down in the river. The southbound lane of Highway 550 is currently closed, with traffic being directed through the northbound lane.
