High school tennis standout dies in Manhattan Beach crash; DUI suspect apprehended
Just a month ago, Loyola High School in Los Angeles honored senior Braun Levi for achieving a top national ranking in boys tennis. Levi, 18, recently triumphed in the Mission League doubles championship with his teammate Cooper Schwartz, marking his fourth consecutive league doubles title. This success was particularly significant for Levi's family, given that their home in Pacific Palisades was destroyed in a fire earlier this year. Tragically, just hours before his high school graduation, Levi lost his life in a traffic accident. The school community was deeply saddened by the news, with Loyola Principal Jamal Adams announcing Levi's passing and inviting everyone to a prayer vigil on campus. Authorities later reported that a 33-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and homicide related to the crash. Levi had been set to attend the University of Virginia in the fall, and friends fondly remembered him as someone who left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Described as a remarkable student-athlete and a beloved leader, Levi's untimely death has left the school community in shock and grief.
