Helicopter Firm with Past Mechanical Problems Crashes
New York Helicopter Charter, the company that was responsible for the helicopter crash in the Hudson River which tragically resulted in the deaths of six individuals last Thursday, has a history of involvement in unsafe incidents in 2013 and 2015 as per reports. Newsweek reached out to New York Helicopter Charter and Meridian Helicopters, the operators that leased the helicopter involved in the recent crash, for comment on Friday through different means outside of regular business hours. The recent string of aviation accidents in the U.S. has raised concerns about overall aviation safety. It is important to note that investigations will be conducted to determine the cause of the Hudson River crash.
