Hanover woman charged after crash resulting in death of 6-year-old daughter

A 25-year-old woman from Hanover, Indiana, was taken into custody following a tragic accident that resulted in the death of her 6-year-old daughter and various injuries. The Indiana State Police announced that Dorothy Snell faces charges related to a collision that took place earlier this year. The incident occurred at the intersection of State Road 256 and U.S. 31, involving a Toyota Camry and a Chrysler driven by Snell who allegedly disregarded a red light and crashed into the Camry. While occupants of the Camry sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Snell, another adult, and a 2-year-old child in her vehicle were also injured but in stable condition. Tragically, Snell's young daughter, who was not in a proper child restraint system, lost her life in the crash. Authorities claimed that speed, alcohol intoxication, and failure to use appropriate safety measures were factors in this devastating incident. Following her arrest, Snell was taken to Scott County Jail and appeared for an initial court hearing with a bond set at $250,000, payable in full cash.
