GoFundMe created for man killed in tow truck loading accident

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A GoFundMe has been created for the Bakersfield tow truck driver who lost his life in an accident while loading a school bus. Cristian Leyva, the tow truck driver who died Tuesday in the loading accident in south Bakersfield was a husband and father of one. Leyva drove for the tow company, Golden Empire Towing in Bakersfield. The towing company released a statement sharing kind words for one of their own. "Our driver was more than a colleague, he was family. His dedication, kindness, and unwavering spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with and served in our community," said the company in a Facebook post. A GoFundMe account created for Leyva states Cristian called his wife before the accident, telling her he had to go do a job, but that he would call her right back. The GoFundMe account was created to help Leyva's wife and their son, Ezekiel, though this time. If you wish to donate, click here.
