
Georgetown firefighter dies in motorcycle accident off duty
A firefighter from the Georgetown Fire Department tragically passed away on Friday morning following a crash on US-29, west of Wolf Ranch Parkway. The city of Georgetown confirmed the incident in a press release, stating that the crash took place at approximately 9 a.m. The firefighter, who was wearing a helmet, was on a motorcycle when the accident occurred as he was heading home. Local authorities and emergency personnel quickly responded to the scene, with the firefighter being transported to Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries around 10 a.m. The firefighter's identity was not disclosed by the city of Georgetown. Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan expressed condolences to the family and thanked neighboring agencies for their support. While another vehicle was involved in the crash, no additional details on the collision were provided by the department.
