Four workers killed in a crash in Eden have been identified

The victims of a crash in Eden Thursday afternoon have been identified. WXII is in contact with family members of some of the victims and a witness. A man told WXII that his family member was one of four victims killed. The sister of one of the victims spoke with WXII over the phone and said, "He was a lineman who loved the job, everybody loved him, he was a great, great guy and brother."WXII is not identifying the woman or her brother at this time at the request of the family.Subscribe to WXII's YouTube channel hereAnother woman said her son was one of the linemen at the scene. She said she had never heard him so upset, and he told her he applied pressure to the wound of one of the injured linemen. He shared a statement with WXII: "All we can do is send prayers to the families for the ones that didn't make it and the ones that are pulling through this incident."The victims were identified by state highway patrol as follows:Douglas Garland Sides, of Summerfield, 72Madison Carter, of Sandy Ridge, 42William Evans, of Randleman, 35Matthew Lockwood, of Winston-Salem, 30Two other men were hit and flown to a hospital. One of the survivors is in critical condition, the other is described as being stable. A man who was in the bucket truck was treated for minor injuries. The driver of the dump truck had had minor injuries and was charged. Melonie Lyles, who lives nearby, talked about how residents are coping, "It's been hectic and just everybody's upset, tore up, because nothing like this has ever happened that I can remember and it's just been bad. It's just been really hectic ya know, all the cops and the fire truck, ambulance, and even helicopters, it's been devastating really." This is a developing story.
