Four people hurt in accident on Broad St in Spring Garden, Philadelphia

Three individuals, including a child, were injured in a collision that occurred on North Broad Street in the Spring Garden neighborhood of Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, as reported by the police. After an investigation, it was revealed that a 33-year-old man was driving a white Hyundai Kona in the wrong direction on Broad Street, heading south in the northbound lanes. He proceeded to run a red light and subsequently collided with a white Toyota Camry at around 4:15 p.m. The Toyota Camry had been traveling eastbound on Wallace Street. The impact of the crash led to significant damage to both vehicles, according to the Philadelphia police. An 11-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Camry sustained multiple injuries and was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in critical condition. The father, a 37-year-old man driving the Camry, declined medical assistance and accompanied his son to the hospital. The driver of the Hyundai was taken to Temple University Hospital and is currently in critical condition. Additionally, a 39-year-old male passenger from the Camry was hospitalized and is in stable condition, confirmed the police. Although Broad Street was temporarily closed due to the collision, it has since reopened for regular traffic.
