
Fort Campbell soldier dies in training exercise car crash in Germany
The U.S. Army recently reported the unfortunate passing of Sgt. Terell Seales, a 34-year-old soldier from Florence, New Jersey, who tragically lost his life in a vehicle accident during a training exercise at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany on Oct. 18. Sgt. Seales was a Motor Transport Operator serving with the 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team "Strike" of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). According to Col. Duke Reim, the Commander of the 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team, Sgt. Seales was a remarkable leader and soldier who motivated others to excel. The unit is supporting Seales' family during this challenging period and is grateful for the quick response and unwavering assistance provided by German allies. Sgt. Seales enlisted in the Army in 2021 and joined Fort Campbell in 2024 after prior service at Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Drum, New York. He had successfully completed the Army Basic Leader Course and was on his second deployment, with a previous tour to Lithuania in 2023. Sgt. Seales' military distinctions include multiple Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. The circumstances of the accident are presently under investigation.
