Former NHL player Tomas Kloucek dies at 45 in skiing mishap

Former NHL defenseman Tomas Kloucek has passed away after a skiing accident in the Czech Republic at the age of 45. His wife, Barbara Klouckova, announced the tragic news on Instagram, expressing her deep sorrow and asking for privacy during this difficult time. The NHL Alumni Association also extended their condolences to Kloucek's family, friends, and former teammates. Kloucek was drafted by the New York Rangers in 1998 and played a total of 141 games in the NHL, scoring two goals and eight assists. He subsequently returned to the Czech Republic to continue his hockey career before retiring in France in 2017. The Rangers held a moment of silence in honor of Kloucek before a game against the Calgary Flames.
