Former Deputy Sheriff Charged with Manslaughter After Motorcycle Crash

Silafia Clyde Brown, a former deputy of the Washington County Sheriff's Office, has been accused of causing a motorcyclist's death in a crash that occurred last year on Old Highway 91. Brown, 49, was charged with manslaughter as a second-degree felony after the incident, which took place as he was responding to another accident. The motorcyclist, Daniel Jack Monfroe, was tragically killed in the collision. Brown, who is no longer part of the sheriff's office, had been involved in the crash while on duty but has since been released from the hospital.
