
Football player, 22, killed in car accident; driver facing murder charge
Austin Peay University announced the passing of William Hardrick, a talented defensive back who had transferred from Mississippi State and Miami (Ohio) before joining their team. Hardrick, 22, tragically lost his life in a car crash in Alabama. Limestone County Coroner Mike West confirmed the news, stating that John Walter McAdams was arrested in connection with the crash and faces serious charges. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the incident. Austin Peay Athletics Director Gerald Harrison expressed deep sorrow over Hardrick's death and extended condolences to his family, friends, and teammates. Head coach Jeff Faris remembered Hardrick as an exceptional individual who had a positive impact both on and off the field. Hardrick, who hailed from Adamsville, Alabama, had played for Mississippi State and Miami (Ohio) before joining Austin Peay. He had shown great promise with Miami, playing in 18 games and recording 32 tackles. Our thoughts are with the entire Austin Peay community as they mourn this heartbreaking loss.
