
Folsom Police Department probes two separate deadly collisions in less than 9 hours
The Folsom Police Department is looking into two separate fatal car accidents that occurred within a span of nine hours. The initial incident took place at the crossroads of Folsom Boulevard and Iron Point Road on May 27 around 4 p.m. A vehicle crashed into a tree, resulting in the driver being discovered unconscious and unresponsive. Despite efforts from officers and Folsom fire personnel, the driver was declared deceased at the scene. No other vehicles were part of the accident, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is currently being conducted by the FPD Major Accident Response Team. The second crash happened on May 28 at approximately 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Golf Links Drive and East Natomas Street. Following a two-vehicle collision, one driver was found unconscious and not breathing. Despite life-saving measures, the driver was declared deceased on-site. The other driver cooperated with authorities, and no arrests were made. The FPD Major Accident Response Team is actively working to determine the underlying reasons for the crash. The identities of the deceased individuals will be disclosed by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office once their next of kin has been informed.
