Fog cited as contributing factor in fatal Sacramento scooter accident, police report
A tragic incident occurred in Sacramento County on Monday morning, resulting in the death of a scooter rider who was hit by a vehicle, according to authorities. The collision took place near Watt Avenue and the American River Bridge shortly before 8:30 a.m. California Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Watt Avenue when it collided with a scooter rider traveling southbound in the northbound lane. The driver failed to see the scooter rider due to dense fog in the area. Regrettably, the scooter rider sustained fatal injuries. While the name of the victim has not been disclosed, CHP confirmed that he was a man in his 30s. The driver involved remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
