Florida Turnpike in Orange County Closed Due to Multi-Vehicle Accident
Early Friday, a collision involving multiple vehicles, including two tractor-trailers, caused a temporary closure of part of Florida's Turnpike in Orange County. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes near mile marker 257 and Interstate 4. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that five vehicles were part of the crash, which led to fuel spillage from one of the trucks onto the road. Fortunately, there were no severe injuries reported. Crews had to work for hours to clear the affected area, resulting in the closure of southbound lanes from I-4 to State Road 528. The lanes were eventually reopened around 6 a.m. This collision came shortly after a separate crash involving three tractor-trailers in Osceola County, where one driver tragically lost his life, and another sustained injuries after their vehicle caught fire upon hitting another tractor-trailer. This earlier incident also led to the closure of all southbound lanes of the Turnpike for a prolonged period.
