A tragic incident occurred on I-44 near Mt. Vernon, Missouri, resulting in the death of a 46-year-old man from Florida. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the man was struck by a semi truck while he was outside his SUV, which had hit a deer moments before. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver sustained minor injuries. The accident took place early Friday morning, just before 5:30am.
