Florida deputy fatally shot in apparent ambush while attending crash

A Miami-Dade County sheriff's deputy tragically lost his life on Thursday after being ambushed while responding to a traffic accident, as reported by authorities. Deputy Devin Jaramillo, only 27 years old, had initially arrived at the crash scene where a dispute erupted, leading to a violent confrontation in which Jaramillo was fatally shot. He was attacked near a warehouse close to Southwest 128th Street and 122nd Avenue while attending to the car crash. Emergency services were swiftly called, and deputies administered first aid before rushing him to HCA-Florida Kendall Hospital, where he later passed away. A somber procession was held that evening outside the hospital to honor the fallen officer. Law enforcement officials held a tribute to Deputy Jaramillo, emphasizing his legacy of integrity, compassion, and bravery. Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz expressed her outrage at the tragic loss and underscored the need for society to reject such violence. The incident is currently under investigation with the assistance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
