Five-vehicle crash in Champaign Co. leads to four hospitalizations
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- A five-vehicle accident just west of Fisher during the low visibility in Friday's dust storm led to four people being sent to the hospital. At approximately 4:50 p.m. on May 16, Illinois State Police Troop 7 responded to US-136 westbound of Country Round 300 E in Champaign County for the report of a five-vehicle crash during a dust storm. In the incident, a Ford F350 struck the rear of a Toyota RAV4, pushing them forward into the rear of a Kia Sol, who then pushed forward into the back of an international tow truck. The door of a Lincoln Navigator was then struck by one of the vehicles during the chain reaction. The driver of the Toyota RAV4 and three passengers in the vehicle were transported to an area hospital with injuries. There is no further information at this time.
