
First responders at site of Aliquippa football team bus crash in Beaver
A school bus carrying Aliquippa Jr. High football players, parents, and staff was involved in a crash in Economy Boro, Beaver County on Saturday morning, resulting in over twenty people being taken to the hospital. The incident occurred on Shaffer Road just before 10 a.m., and emergency responders were quickly on the scene. According to Economy Police Chief Michael O'Brien, there were a total of 28 individuals on the bus at the time, which was transporting members of the middle school football team from Aliquippa School District to a game at Pine-Richland. The severity of injuries is not yet confirmed, but crews were seen working to remove the bus, which had sustained front-end damage. Mayor Dwan Walker urged the community to offer prayers for those involved as investigations into the incident continue.
