Firefighter's body found at vacation spot after kayak accident
The Collin County Sheriff's Office in Texas reported that the body of firefighter Juan Chaidez was discovered on Lavon Lake in Collin County after his kayak overturned. Chaidez, a dedicated firefighter paramedic with Dallas Fire-Rescue for six years, was described by his colleagues as an outstanding firefighter and person. Despite the tragedy, Chaidez's dog, who was with him at the time of the accident, was found safe by rescuers. Multiple agencies, including Wylie Fire Rescue, Lucas Fire Department, Princeton Fire Department, and more, collaborated in the search efforts for Chaidez. The Collin County Sheriff's Office expressed their heartfelt condolences to Chaidez's family and colleagues and commended the various agencies for their support and professionalism.
