Fiery semi crash shuts down lanes on I-44 near U.S. 65 in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A fiery crash involving two semi-trucks has closed lanes on Interstate 44 near the U.S. 65 South/Branson interchange Wednesday evening, Feb. 18. Springfield police tell Ozarks First one driver has “moderate” injuries, and the other has “very serious" injuries. They said it was a two-vehicle crash involving eastbound semi trucks. As of 7:25 p.m., all of eastbound I-44 is closed and one lane of westbound I-44 is closed. Details regarding injuries, the number of vehicles involved or what caused the crash have not yet been released. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) and other emergency personnel remain at the scene directing traffic and investigating. Motorists should expect significant delays in the area. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
