Around 2:47 p.m., a vehicle on northbound Highway 1 near the Traffic Way off-ramp veered off the road and into shrubbery, causing a vegetation fire minutes later. By 3 p.m., the vehicle was ablaze with occupants still inside. The right lane of Highway 101 has been shut down by Caltrans for emergency crews.
