Female passenger killed in Fairfield County two-vehicle crash

LANCASTER, Ohio (WCMH) -- A woman died Sunday afternoon and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a man was driving a Dodge just after 5 p.m. southbound on Pickerington Road near Refugee Road in Violet Township. Simultaneously, two women were in a Ford that was going north on Pickerington Road and the driver was trying to turn left into a private drive across the southbound lane, per OSHP. The Ford was hit by the Dodge and both vehicles went off the road with the passenger of the Ford ejecting from the vehicle. The OSHP said the female passenger, identified as 79-year-old Marcella Hoover of Reynoldsburg, did not wear a seat belt. Hoover was taken to Grant Medical Center and was pronounced dead. The drivers involved in the crash were both hospitalized in stable condition.
