Father among 2 killed in Colorado after car falls 320 feet down mountain

Authorities in Colorado are sharing more information about the recent tragic accident on Red Mountain Pass where a young girl survived a 320-foot fall inside a car, while two adults in the vehicle tragically lost their lives. The two adults, who were from New Mexico, have been identified as 42-year-old Louis Michael and 79-year-old Leoba Valdez, the father of the girl. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning on a section of Highway 550 known as "The Waterfall." A complex rescue operation involving ropes was required as the car rolled down the mountain. The cause of the crash is currently being investigated. Ouray County Coroner's Office expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased individuals. This accident was the first of three separate crashes on Highway 550 in a span of three days.
