Fatality in Newport News as 21-year-old dies in excavator crash
A tragic vehicle crash occurred in Newport News, Virginia, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old man. The incident took place late Sunday night on the eastbound lanes of I-64 near Oyster Point Road. According to Virginia State Police, the driver of a Chrysler Sebring lost control and collided with an excavator, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Unfortunately, the driver, identified as Rishard Bernard Brummell Harvey, was unable to escape and passed away at the scene. Authorities mentioned that the construction zone was not in operation during the accident, and investigations are ongoing.
