Fatality in multi-vehicle collision near Chicago Midway Airport

A pedestrian lost their life in a collision between three vehicles near the entrance of Chicago Midway Airport late Monday evening. Emergency responders, including the Chicago Fire Department, were called to the scene on 63rd Street shortly after 11 p.m. The incident involved a white Infiniti, a black Infiniti, and a white Nissan. The series of events unfolded with the white Infiniti swiping the black Infiniti, leading to subsequent collisions that eventually resulted in the white Infiniti striking a building after hitting a 38-year-old man. The victim succumbed to their injuries at Christ Hospital, but their identity remains undisclosed. The driver of the white Infiniti and a female passenger were also hospitalized, with the driver in stable condition and the passenger's state unknown. Although six individuals were involved in the accident, the others declined medical assistance. Crews were observed securing the damaged section of the building housing the aircraft hangar. Law enforcement has not made any arrests or filed charges yet and is actively investigating the crash's cause. Updates on this ongoing situation will be provided by CBS News Chicago.
