Fatality in Monterey County motorcycle collision
The California Highway Patrol is looking into a tragic incident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck that resulted in a fatality on Sunday evening. The collision took place at the junction of San Juan Road and San Miguel Canyon Road around 8:40 p.m. According to CHP, a 40-year-old individual from Fresno was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on San Juan Road toward San Miguel Canyon Road, while a 52-year-old from Castroville was driving a gray Ford pickup westbound on San Juan Road and preparing to turn left onto San Miguel Canyon Road. The vehicles collided in the intersection for reasons unknown as the Ford was making the left turn. Sadly, the motorcyclist lost their life at the scene, while the Ford driver was unharmed. The name of the deceased will be released once their family has been notified.
