Fatality in collision with tractor-trailer on US 30
A tragic incident occurred in Allen County, Indiana early Thursday morning when a woman lost her life in a collision involving her car and a semitrailer on US 30. The collision, which took place at 3 a.m., resulted in the closure of the westbound lanes of US 30 for over four hours from Butt Road to County Line Road, at the border between Allen and Whitley counties. According to the Allen County Sheriff's Department, a subsequent investigation revealed that the semitrailer had been stationary at a traffic light when the car struck it from behind. The female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, with her identity to be disclosed later by the coroner's office. Fortunately, the semitrailer driver was unharmed in the incident, and the authorities are continuing their inquiries into the crash.
