Fatality as North Iowa Man Crashes Vehicle into Grain Elevator at High Speed
A man from north Iowa tragically lost his life when his car crashed into a grain elevator. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident took place around 1 am on Sunday morning, when 35-year-old Ty Borcherding of Hampton was driving a Subaru Forester at a high speed and collided with the concrete elevator at 205 Railroad Avenue in Dows, resulting in the vehicle catching fire. Borcherding was the only person in the car and thankfully, there were no other injuries reported. The Iowa State Patrol, Wright County Sheriff's Office, and several fire departments and ambulance services responded to the scene. The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
