Fatalities reported in Placer County car wreck on Interstate 80
According to officials from the Placer County Sheriff's Office, there was a fatal head-on collision on Saturday morning that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The incident led to the closure of all eastbound lanes on Interstate 80 at Canyon Way in Colfax. The California Highway Patrol conducted an investigation, causing traffic to be redirected off the interstate for over three hours. The lanes were finally reopened around 9:20 a.m. The reason behind the crash remains unknown, and the names of the deceased have not been disclosed.
