Fatal wrong-way crash on I-290 shuts down eastbound lanes.
A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning in Cook County on Interstate 290, where a driver lost their life and several others were injured in a wrong-way crash at the intersection of I-290 eastbound and Wolf Road in Hillside. Illinois State Police were on the scene quickly after responding to the traffic incident at 4:17 a.m., transporting all individuals involved to nearby hospitals. Unfortunately, one of the motorists succumbed to life-threatening injuries. The eastbound lanes were temporarily closed following the crash, but were anticipated to reopen after a short period.
