Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on I-15
A tragic accident occurred on northbound Interstate 15 in Salt Lake City that resulted in the closure of the road and traffic being redirected at 600 South, as confirmed by the Utah Highway Patrol. A driver in a blue Toyota Camry was traveling in the wrong direction on the interstate when the driver collided head-on with a northbound Audi around 700 South. Additionally, a gray Hyundai was also hit by the wrong-way driver. The Hyundai driver sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized, while the Audi driver is in stable condition. Sadly, the wrong-way driver passed away in the crash. Traffic on northbound I-15 was temporarily diverted but has since reopened, according to Highway Patrol Cpl. Luis Silva. An earlier version incorrectly stated that the accident occurred around 700 North instead of at 700 South.
