Fatal vehicle crash closes Orchard Rd. in Nipomo
Two people were killed in a three-vehicle accident involving a potential wrong-way driver in Nipomo on Monday evening, authorities tell KSBY.A California Highway Patrol official said a white pickup truck traveling southbound on Orchard Road "appears" to have crossed into the northbound lane near Cherry Blossom Place around 6:30 p.m., crashing into an SUV and a third vehicle.The male driver in the pick-up truck and the female driver in the SUV both died at the scene.The third driver suffered minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.The official adds that speed seems to be a factor. It's unclear at this time if drugs and/or alcohol were involved.This is a developing story and will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
