
Fatal two-car collision in Decatur at dawn
A tragic incident in Decatur resulted in the death of a 26-year-old woman after a collision between two vehicles early on a Saturday morning. The Decatur Police were called to the intersection of Grand Avenue and Main Street where they found that a Ford Focus, driven by the deceased woman, had disregarded a red light and collided with an International box truck, whose driver had the right of way. The truck driver, a 68-year-old man, was unharmed. The Ford had three female passengers who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The Decatur Police have stated that the truck driver did not show signs of being under the influence, although the toxicology report for the Ford driver is pending. The Fatal Accident Investigation Team is looking into the incident, and no further details are available currently.
