
Fatal Triad crash follows chase with drugs in suspect car
A fatal accident occurred in Greensboro, resulting in the death of a man, as reported by troopers from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The incident took place when a trooper observed a white Audi speeding on I-40 west near Gallimore Dairy Road in Greensboro around 9:13 a.m. The vehicle was clocked at 91 mph in a 65 mph zone and did not stop for lights and sirens, leading to a pursuit. The driver lost control of the vehicle on West Market Street, crashing into a tree and a utility pole, resulting in his death at the scene. The driver, identified as Bernard Evans Jr., 36, was the sole occupant of the car and was not wearing a seat belt at the time. Authorities found a significant amount of illegal drugs and a stolen gun in the vehicle during their investigation.
