Fatal train accident in Barcelona following recent deadly crash in Spain.

A commuter train in Catalonia, Spain, collided on Tuesday after a retaining wall collapsed onto the tracks, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to 37 others. This incident occurred just days after another fatal train crash in southern Spain that claimed the lives of at least 42 individuals and left many more injured. Following the tragedy in Catalonia, emergency responders were still searching for additional victims from the previous accident while the country entered a three-day mourning period. Among the 37 people affected by Tuesday's crash, five were in critical condition, six others had less severe injuries, and the rest were attended to by 20 ambulances that transported them to nearby hospitals. The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, expressed his condolences to the victims and their families via X. The commuter train accident took place near the town of Gelida, causing the suspension of service along that line due to the collapse of the retaining wall caused by heavy rain. Investigations into the incidents are ongoing, with the Spanish Transport Minister deeming the causes of the accidents as "truly strange."
