Fatal three-car accident claims life of man from Walnut Grove

A tragic collision occurred in Walnut Grove, Missouri, involving three vehicles on Thursday, August 28, resulting in the death of one man and injuring two others. The incident occurred when a northbound Ford Mustang attempted to pass a Cadillac SRX SUV on State Highway 123 near Washington Avenue. Upon swerving to avoid an oncoming Chevrolet Express van, the Mustang collided with the Cadillac, causing it to veer off the road, and subsequently, the Chevrolet hit the Mustang. The Mustang's driver, a 55-year-old man from Walnut Grove, was fatally wounded, while the two occupants of the Chevrolet, a 28-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy from Aldrich, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Fortunately, the driver of the Cadillac was uninjured in the crash. This tragic event marks the 82nd fatality within Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D's jurisdiction in 2025.
