
Fatal Thornton crash believed to be caused by driver running red light
The Thornton Police Department is currently looking into a collision that resulted in the death of an individual on Thursday night at the junction of East 120th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. As reported, emergency services were dispatched to the scene at 11:10 p.m. According to initial findings, a young man aged 18 was driving a Toyota Corolla eastbound on 120th Avenue when he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle. The collision occurred with an Acura TL that was making a southbound turn. Sadly, the impact led to the death of the 35-year-old male driver of the Acura, who was pronounced deceased at the site. The identity of the deceased individual has not been disclosed pending formal identification from the Adams County Coroner's Office and family notifications. The driver thought to have caused the accident by disregarding the traffic signal was taken to a medical facility for evaluation. The authorities suspect that speed and impairment were contributing factors to the incident.
