
Fatal Tesla Autopilot crash in Monterey County under investigation
The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident involving a Tesla that ignited in Monterey County early on Monday morning. The white Tesla was heading south on River Road when it drove off the road and hit a tree, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Sadly, the driver, whose identity is currently unknown, was pronounced dead at the crash site. CHP officials have raised the question of whether alcohol or the vehicle's self-driving mode played a role in the incident. The Monterey County Sheriff's Office will share the driver's identity after notifying their next of kin.
