Fatal Tampa crash injures mother, sibling, and claims life of 6-year-old

In Tampa, a mother and her two children were struck by a pickup truck while crossing a road on their way to school on Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at the intersection of Mohr Road and Sheldon Road, with the family being in a crosswalk with the signal to proceed, according to Hillsborough Undersheriff Tom St. John. Tragically, the 6-year-old girl passed away at the scene, while the mother and 10-year-old son sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. The family's devastating loss is a tragedy they will carry with them forever, as expressed by St. John. The 77-year-old driver of the pickup truck will face a citation for failing to yield the right-of-way, which includes a $1,000 fine and an automatic 6-month suspension of his license.
