Fatal solo car crash in Napa County, California
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating a tragic accident that resulted in the loss of six lives in unincorporated Napa County on a Sunday evening. The incident occurred close to Pope Valley Elementary School at approximately 5:50 p.m. Along Pope Valley Road, a Toyota Sienna minivan carrying several passengers was traveling southbound when, for reasons yet unknown, the driver veered off the road and collided with a tree. Sadly, six individuals lost their lives in the accident. The driver and one passenger were airlifted to nearby trauma centers with serious injuries. At the hospital, the driver was charged with DUI causing injury/death. Pope Valley Road remains closed as of 7:45 pm.
