
Fatal small plane crash in Ogle County
A tragic incident occurred in rural Ogle County where a crop dusting plane crashed, leading to the pilot's unfortunate passing. The Ogle County Sheriff's Department reported that the crash took place near the Ogle County Airport along Route 64, between Oregon and Mt. Morris, at approximately 9:36 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the aircraft ablaze on the north side of the road. Regrettably, the pilot was discovered deceased within the plane. As a result of the crash, the plane collided with seven utility poles, leaving 388 customers without electricity, as shared by ComEd. Due to the accident, the road is anticipated to remain closed for the remainder of the day.
