Fatal single-vehicle crash claims life of Norwood resident
A 63-year-old man from Norwood tragically passed away following a single-vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon in St. Lawrence County. The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. on County Route 38 in the town of Norfolk. According to New York State Police, a white 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was headed north on County Route 38 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road, flip over, and collide with a tree. Despite efforts by Norfolk Fire and Rescue personnel to revive him, the driver, identified as John Vari, was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Lawrence County Coroner. The investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.
