Fatal single-vehicle accident reported in Sampson County near NC 24: NCSHP
A man from Sampson County, North Carolina died in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon, as reported by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The man, identified as 47-year-old John Rhinard Croyle of Autryville, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina on Pumpkintown Road when he lost control and the car rolled over in a field. Unfortunately, Croyle passed away at the scene. The Highway Patrol suspects that speed played a role in the accident, and it is unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors. Croyle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
