Fatal single-vehicle accident near Ramona
A 78-year-old man from Santa Ysabel tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident last weekend on State Route 67 near Ramona. The man, driving a 2018 Toyota Camry, made an unsafe right turn and went off the road, crashing into a tree north of Shady Bend. Despite being rushed to Palomar Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries. While authorities have not yet released his identity, they have ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash. The incident is currently being investigated, with Captain Michael Monteagudo of the CHP reminding drivers to be cautious and vigilant on the road.
