Fatal shooting follows vehicle accident.
One individual has passed away following a shooting incident that occurred at around 3 p.m. on Sunday in Indianapolis. The incident began with a crash near the 800 block of Massachusetts Avenue, involving one vehicle hitting another in a parking lot. Both vehicles then moved to the 3500 block of Southeastern Avenue. Upon receiving reports of a shooting at that location, IMPD officers found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, the victim was later pronounced dead. According to IMPD Sergeant William Young, preliminary investigations suggest that this tragic event stemmed from a property damage crash. A person of interest has been detained by officers and is currently in custody. Authorities have stated that they view this as a contained incident and everyone involved has been located.
