Fatal semi-truck crash claims lives of two teens in Webster County
Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a collision on U.S. 60 just east of Rogersville in Webster County. The incident involved a 2008 Mercury Mariner driven by a teenager traveling north on a side road, and a Kenworth Big Rig traveling west on U.S. Highway 60 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Thursday night. The car attempted to cross the westbound lanes of Highway 60 and was subsequently hit by the Kenworth, causing it to overturn multiple times. Sadly, two teenage passengers, a boy and a girl from Rogersville, were fatally injured in the crash. The 17-year-old female driver from Rogersville sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital in Springfield for treatment. Thankfully, the 78-year-old male truck driver emerged from the incident unharmed.
