Fatal scuba diving incident near Long Beach
A diving incident off the coast of Long Beach tragically resulted in a fatality on Friday morning, as reported by authorities. The Long Beach Fire Department and U.S. Coast Guard responded to a medical emergency on a vessel about three miles southeast of the Long Beach breakwater, near Alamitos Bay, around 10 a.m. Upon arrival, fire department personnel found Coast Guard members administering CPR to the patient. Despite transportation efforts towards shore via an LBFD rescue boat, the patient did not respond to treatment and was declared deceased enroute. The individuals involved have not been identified by authorities at this time.
