Fatal Santa Ana Crash: Multiple Deaths
Late on Saturday night, a tragic high-speed crash into a tree in Santa Ana resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to two others. The collision involved a silver Lexus sedan that veered off West Segerstrom Avenue and struck a tree between South Townsend Street and South Griset Place around 11:23 PM. The impact caused two occupants of the vehicle to be ejected, while the other four were trapped in the wreckage. Emergency crews promptly responded to the scene, providing aid to the ejected victims and working to free those still trapped. Both ejected victims were taken to a nearby trauma center, with one in critical condition and not expected to survive. Unfortunately, the four remaining occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Lexus, a male accompanied by five female passengers who were locals of Santa Ana, was revealed to have had two adult passengers and four teenagers on board. Tragically, the collision claimed the lives of both adult passengers. Authorities suspect that speed was a contributing factor in the crash and are investigating the potential involvement of drugs or alcohol. Additionally, debris from the collision also caused a black sedan and a grey SUV to collide, thankfully resulting in no injuries to the occupants of those vehicles.
