Fatal rollover crash in western Wisconsin injuries man and kills woman

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in western Wisconsin during the early hours of Saturday. The incident took place shortly after midnight on West Blair Road near the town of Taylor. The Wisconsin State Patrol reported that a Dodge Ram 2500 was headed west when the driver lost control, hitting a power pole and flipping the vehicle. A 34-year-old man from Black River Falls sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, while a 35-year-old woman from the same area tragically lost her life in the accident. Efforts to determine the driver were unsuccessful. The man was found to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. Although it's unclear if the woman had also consumed alcohol, both occupants were wearing seat belts. The deceased woman was identified as Cortney Schultz. The town of Taylor is situated approximately 49 miles southeast of Eau Claire.
